So the last few weeks have been interesting since the last time I wrote. Walls have been primmed, and primmed again. Been sick with a horrible cold. Ceiling has been painted, tile has been laid in the shower area, and walls have been painted "The Color". Still been sick. A few tiles have been laid on the floor which means NO TOILET again until all is done with the floor. However, the kids and I leave for DC on Tuesday AM so I guess only a few days without will be fine. Hopefully when we come back from DC all will be finished and I can turn this blog into our DC blog!! So if you all have been wondering if we have dropped off the face of the earth the answer is NO, we certainly have been alive but barely breathing in a sense.

The Bathroom project
As many of you know, we have been rennovating our bathroom for the past few weeks. I decided to create this blog to give you a day to day experience of the joy we have been having. We have ran into a few snags here and there, but for the most part it's been going well. Who's doing the work you ask? Well since we all know that Nicks not the "handiest" man of all, we reeled in Ted, Lisa's hubby to be the "General Contractor" if you will. Don't get me wrong, Nick is a GREAT helper, but just not used to that kind of work.
So this all happened when one day something came over me as i was sitting on the toilet peeing, and thought what the old, out-dated, ugly bathroom would look like if the green tiles were not on the walls? So, I started pulling them off. Then Ryan thought what a great idea and he wanted to help. Before we knew it, all 3 shower walls were tile-less. This left an AWFUL stench in the room and throughout the house. I thought, "Hey, this should go away in a day or so." Then, in walks Nick home from work and of course wondering what that horrible stench is. I bring him into the bathroom, and he was stunned. Now, he didn't get too mad, but he wasn't excited either. Me on the other hand, was very excited!! I finally am going to get a NEW BATHROOM!!
From that moment on, Nick put Ryan and I in charge of the demolition for the entire bathroom and him and Ted would work on everything else.
Not thinking everything through, I didn't realize that once the floor needs to be ripped up, that from taht point we would no longer have access to a TOILET!! Now, we have an old shower in the basement that we never used, but NO TOILET!!! Luckily for us, we have great neighbors accross the street that gave us access to theirs but after 2 weeks of NO toilet, we had to do something. We ended up putting in the new toilet temporarily until the tile is laid on the floor.
We have come across many obstacles during this rennovation, but nothing that the guys haven't been able to iron out and move on.
We are at the point now where we have drywall up and mudding has begun. I now have an exhaust fan in the ceiling, and a new window has been installed. Hopefully by next week, I can begin painting. I will keep you posted!!
